The Dunes will redefine the Monterey Peninsula lifestyle and shopping experience. Located in the City Marina at the site of historic Fort Ord, the community will include over 1200 residences, two hotels, retail, and business parks. The Dunes rests directly across from the Pacific Ocean and a boardwalk will link the residences and visitors directly to the beach. Several parks are planned which include a 14 acre city park with ball fields, a dog park and several additional neighborhood parks.
The Dunes will be home to two shopping districts. Located on 10th Street a mixed-use promenade will include shops, services, residences, restaurants and a multi-screen cinema. At the heart of this shopping district is the town square with areas for relaxing and an amphitheater for exhibits and open air events. The second retail district will include a restaurant, and several major regional retail stores including Target, REI, Best Buy, Old Navy and others.
